Silver Bullet Set K5406T (1954) 354 Engine Plus Two 955 Silver Coaches

Description

Up for auction is an American Flyer passenger set from 1954 (K5406T).  It consists of a 4/6/2 silver steam locomotive (354) with headlight, smoke, and choo-choo.  The reverse unit is in the tender, and there is 'direct' wiring from the tender to the engine  (as opposed to the earlier four-prong plug wiring).  The engine runs and reverses nicely, and it is a good smoker.  Pulling power was not tested, but there should not be a problem (the armature has not been overheated - coloration is bright).  There is some decal chipping, but not nearly as much as is usually seen.  The plastic body has no breaks or dents.  The tender is far better than most, with no rust on the top, sides, or bottom.  The two 955 silver coaches grade very good.  Again, there is some decal chipping.  One of the two has light rust on the sheet metal chassis, and the other has light scuffing on the roof.  This is shown in the last photo.  Thank you for looking.
